At Leira...Beyond Words LLC we believe that cultural awareness is an integral part of all language acquisition. Words are meaningless without an understanding of the cultural context within which they originate. All courses include cultural awareness modules. In addition, one of Leira...Beyond Words LLC's course offerings is a One-Day Cultural Awareness Workshop. Topics include, but are not limited to: geography, climate, topography, flora and fauna, language distribution, history, flag, national anthem, religion, the arts, body language, non-verbal communication, food and drinks, social etiquette, do’s and don’ts, superstitions and taboos, history of immigration and demography, relationship with neighboring countries, political situation, economy. (industry, commerce, currency), means of transport, crime, social issues, social gatherings and festivities, education, language(s) spoken and tourism.
