Curricula and instruction are currently available in twenty-four languages: Chinese, Dari, English, Farsi, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Iraqi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Pashto, Portuguese, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Spanish, Standard Arabic, Sudanese, Tagalog, Thai, Turkic, Urdu and Vietnamese. All courses include modules that provide an understanding of the cultural context within which the target language is spoken.

The Department of Defense (DoD) has broken languages into tiers based upon their difficulty level for a native English speaker to learn. Course expected results differ depending on the DoD target language tier in which the language being aquired falls.

Level 1 and 2 languages - English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish:

One-Day Intensive – (Introductory communicative level) Students will learn the correct pronunciation of sounds and words and will be able to interact in very basic communicative situations and scenarios. They will have an understanding of the target language sentence structure, which they can use to form their own preliminary sentences.

Five-Day Intensive (Basic communication level) – Students will be able to manage successfully a number of uncomplicated communicative tasks in straightforward social situations. They will be able to communicate basic personal information, preferences and immediate needs.

Ten-Day Intensive (Low to mid-intermediate level) – In addition to the skills covered in the five day course, students will acquire more speed, improved pronunciation and sentence structure accuracy through repetition, exercises, situational role plays, real life scenarios and personal presentations. They will also be exposed to a much larger vocabulary than that covered in the five-day course.

Thirty to Forty-Five Day Language Acquisition Course (Intermediate to advanced level) - Students will be able to handle with ease and confidence a large number of communicative tasks. They will be able to converse in a number of concrete topics relating to work, home and leisure activities, as well as events of public and personal interest. They will learn to make personal and professional presentations. They will be able to adapt flexibly to the demands of the conversation. They will have a fairly extensive vocabulary, and will deal with the target language with accuracy, clarity and precision.

Level 3 and 4 languages - Chinese, Dari, Farsi, Greek, Hindi, Iraqi, Japanese, Korean, Pashto, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Standard Arabic, Sudanese, Tagalog, Thai, Turkic, Urdu and Vietnamese.

One-Day Intensive (Fundamentals of the target language) – Students will be able to have a basic understanding of the cultural differences of the target language country. They will learn how to pronounce in an intelligible way basic words and phrases.

Five-Day Intensive (Basic communication level) – Students will be able to exchange greetings and to give and request very basic personal information. They will have enough vocabulary to manage simple communicative tasks in straightforward social situations.

Ten-Day Intensive (High basic level) - Students will be able to manage successfully a number of uncomplicated communicative tasks in simple social situations. They will have enough vocabulary to be able to respond and request information related to basic needs and preferences.

Thirty to Forty-Five Day Language Acquisition Course (Mid intermediate level) - Students will be able to successfully communicate in a variety of simple social situations as well as to converse on personal topics such as family, home, interests, hobbies and personal preferences. They will be able to make requests and provide information regarding physical and social needs.
